Is it possible to stream from my iPad 2 to my smart tv? I have had a search on here but can't seem to come up with anything??

What are you trying to stream? I use AppleTV to stream movies and music from my PC and iPad to my TV

I was hoping to stream movies or some tv series that I have on my ipad, is it only possible with the apple tv unit?

There are cables that do the same thing but wirelessly, Apple TV is the way.
