According to a new report published by the NPD Group, Appleâ€™s iPad managed to obtain the biggest share of tablet sales in the U.S. during 2013. Whatâ€™s curious is that the same report points to the fact that sales of Google Chromebooks have surpassed those of Mac notebooks in the laptop market. The report goes on to mention that overall tablet sales captured more than 22 percent of all personal computing device sales. Appleâ€™s iPad sales accounted for 59 percent of the tablet sales volume. The iPad accounted for 15.8% of personal computing device sales, almost twice than Androidâ€™s share of 8.7% and Windows tablets at 2.2%. Last year, Appleâ€™s iconic tablet share was even bigger, as it made up for 17.1% of sales.
