iPad return extension?

    Anyone had any luck or heard news of Apple extending the return period for the iPad ? Mine is only 24 days old which is outside their standard return period. Since they just dropped the price on the original model I'm looking at losing a good $150+ if I wanted to sell it and try to buy the new one.

    It's not a huge deal for me since I don't have any interest in the camera, but I figure if I could upgrade for just the restocking fee I might as well do it while I can.

    Apple doesn't have a restocking fee anymore.

    But I think you are out of luck with exchanging your fairly new iPad.

    I just bought mine on Saturday. It doesn't look like you can return them for a refund after you open it unless there is I'm not understanding.

    It's cool, though. I still love my iPad.

    I found this on the Apple site. I guess I can the different back.

    "Should Apple permanently reduce its price on any Apple-branded product within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of purchase, you may request a refund of the difference between the price paid and the current selling price. An original purchase receipt is required, and you must request your refund within fourteen (14) calendar days of the price reduction. Please note that this policy does not apply to temporary price drops or special offers, such as price reductions that occur during holiday sales events (e.g., “Black Friday”)."

    So I happened to be in the mall and decided to drop by the Apple store to look at something else and asked about this while I was in there.

    Even though I was beyond the 14 day period, the store manager refunded me the price difference which worked out to $106. Since the upgrade doesnt mean much too me, I'm actually happier with this than letting me return it for the new one.

    This is the second time I've worked with this store (Mall of Georgia) about the iPad and I've walked out very impressed with their customer service both times.
