Hello everybody,
When I connect my ipad mini with my windows 7 PC with itunes in the upper right corner appear the following :
"not in charge"
Anyone have the same problem ?
Can be depend on itunes version ?
The other stuff (sync with the library, apps , music, etc, etc,) all goes good.
Pleas let me know,
Reagards,

it's a design feature for all iPads (including the Mini) - they don't charge from a computer (unless that computer has a high-power USB port). The iPad draw more power than most computer USB ports provide, so Apple made it that they would tell you they are not charging so you'd use a wall socket.

Actually, they are charging, it's just such a light trickle charge that it's not registering.

This is all normal behavior - so it means your Mini is working fine.

Hope this reassures.

As everyone had mentioned already, your PC's USB port is only supplying low power. Install AI Charger and your problems are solved. I have this installed on one of my PCs since my iPad 1 :)

Download & install: ASUS Ai Charger - Quick charge your iPod, iPhone and even iPad!

Most computers offer built-in USB Ports which only supply 500mA at 5V and that means that they don't supply enough power to charge thee battery of your iPad. It's a pity because you plug in your iPad thinking it will be charged and you'll be wasting time.

The moment you read that 'not charging' message is the moment you'll wish to have installed ASUS Ai Charger before.

ASUS Ai Charger is a very simple application, in fact it doesn't feature any interface or panel, you'll only have to install it and it will change some parameters so when you'll plug your iPad, it will detect it and will increase the power supply to 1.2 mA and you'll see your iPad charging.

In addition it decreases the battery charging time for other devices, such as iPod, iPhone or speakers. Best of all is that you won't have to do anything, it will work automatically.

Finally, we should highlight it supports all motherboars. It's developed by ASUS but it supports all motherboards out there, so you won't have any problem when using it.

Even though it says not charging, the iPad Mini will charge through the USB port on a computer. It just trickle charges, taking a very long time to complete the charge.
