Bricked my ipad and I would never jailbreak anything.. suggestions?
I'm in the same boat. Mine gets to about 99% complete on the installation and just freezes. Going to try the same fix they told me for the iPod Touch when going to 4.0. Will report back if this particular fix works.
And nope, mine isn't jailbroken either. Dead stock.
Wow, Apple is having a really bad month.
OK guys, had the exact same fix as before. If you are bricked, this is how to fix it. This is gonna suck because it is a full system restore but this is what it took. Uninstall iTunes from your computer entirely. Your library will stay intact. I may have just lost some of my files for a presentation, about to find out. Anyway, after you uninstall and delete iTunes, restart your computer. Go to Apple, download and reinstall iTunes fresh. Start iTunes and hook your iPad up again. This will warn you about restoring. Do the restore and it should finish the process this time.
BTW, the good thing is, the computer PROBABLY at least got the backup saved. If so, you should be good. I'm finding out now.
Let me know if this helps y'all.
Final update. All of my info was intact. The book, the presentation, everything. So if you're bricked, this should fix it for you.
Clearly your good faith in Apple testing surpasses reality.
Is the iPad update worth doing and just wait for the upgrade in the fall?
No it is not apple. The update works fine it will be a corrupt app or connection just do a full restore and try again.

If I were to upgrade what do I do if it bricks the iPad?
