iPad frozen, please help

I was downloading the new iOS and my iPad is now frozen. I can't do a hard reset. What do I do?

My mini seemed to be stuck while updating (Apple logo, progress bar didn't show any progress). What I did was pressing Home and Power button simultaneously. The Apple logo disappeared and appeared again, then I released them. That done, it finished updating in no time. Maybe it will help you as well.
