Looking for an iPad app that has ability to save .doc (or relative format) on the iDisk, for use with BT KB and normal note taking. Anyone with experience with such an app? thanks

Yes. iWork has full support for opening and saving Pages documents as Word-compatible .doc files.

The Apple iPad iWorks suite - 'Pages' (Word), 'Numbers' (Excel) and Keynote (PowerPoint) can read and save documents in the relevant format - you can read more here...

These 'Help' pages give details of the various iWorks programs. For example, 'Pages' can read .doc and .docx format files and save in .doc or .pdf format. It's a stripped down version of the Mac's iWorks suite but can read MS Word documents OK as long as the formatting is not too complex. Documents authored on the iPad work 100% on a PC, but not always the other way around.

As I mentioned, they are stripped down programs, so don't expect an 'MS Word clone'. There are workarounds for most of the missing 'features' so, if you have a specific problem, don't hesitate to get back in touch.

I should add that there are several other third party apps that are Word compatible - another iPad Forum members' favourite is 'Docs2Go'.

OK - forgot to mention that, of course, you can save your Pages documents direct to iDisk and that this app works just fine with a Bluetooth keyboard.
