iPad Air 2 and SIM card Setup

I have an Unlocked Cellular 4G-LTE Version Air 2 and want to set myself up with a pre-paid Mobile Hot Spot service. Am I correct in assuming that I first need to find out who the carrier is for the Mobile Hot Spot, then purchase a SIM card for that carrier?
For instance, if the Mobile Hot Spot is purchased from Net10, but they use AT&T as their carrier, then I will need an AT&T SIM card, correct?

You'll need a new SIM, probalby, but who you get it from is going to vary carrier to carrier. The only way to be sure is to ask the company you are buying the service from. Unless, of course, someone here has the same service and product.
