Ipad 3 will not open

My sons Ipad ( model before the new IPad Air) will not open ..it's fully charged but for some reason it will not start up....any suggestions please

Yes do a reset of your iPad.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, it can take 20-25 seconds, so be patient.....wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start up normally.

Let us know how you go.

Just to make sure, how can you tell it is fully charged? Is it possible the cable or charger is bad and it really isn't charging / charged and has a dead battery?

If you close your apps completely regularly and do a restart occasionally, this will go a long way in keeping your iPad running well. Enjoy!
