Let me say first that, from the start I HATED all things APPLE, mainly because of the monopoly they have (and still have) on all their products. I thought of them as rigid and uncoustermiseable, but I must say I am a bit of a convert, I splurged out and bought an Ipad, and I LOVE IT. I still find some of the programming rigid and not as coustermiseable as I would like, and at the moment I am using it for video viewing, web browsing and love its versitility for education for my challanged 2yr old, I would like to play movies for him in the car and have found a holder for it, but I need to screen lock it so if he touches buttons it wont do anything. Is there any thing out there yet?

Not sure if there is anything like that but probably putting your iPad in a rigid see through cover would do it. I don't know of any software way of doing what you want. The other advantage of a hard case is that it will not get damaged if your 2 year old throws anything at it during the ride.

I know what you mean about apple and I am a recent convert myself. I am willing to overlook some inflexibility if the rest of it works well.
Welcome to the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to "see" you and hope you enjoy your visits.

Take a look at the product "BubCap." It's a hard plastic piece that attaches over the Home button so that little ones can't press it (adults still can ... it's just very resistant). I think there are different sizes and resistance. From what I read, it's easily attached with a sticky back - and it's easily removed should you wish.

It's just a suggestion because I've never tried it. However, I've heard good reviews on it.

The Home button was a problem, so will give the gadget ZPHONE suggested a go. but I was also hoping for some ideas about how to stop him from touching the screen during play and stopping the play by hitting buttons at ramdom. Thanks again everyone!

Actually I suggested a hard see through cover over the whole screen and the button which should prevent him from touching anything to disturb the video.
