iPad 2 v5.1 iTunes and iCloud backup fails

Hi Everyone,

My iPad has been failing to backup to iCloud for about 6 weeks so decided it was time to figure out why. I thought I would turn off the iCloud backup and just back it up to itunes so i have one good backup but this also fails.

In iTunes i get the following error: iTunes could not backup the iPad (ipad name) because an error occured.
When trying to backup to iCloud I get: The last backup could not be completed.

Both errors are not very helpful and I'm now stuck as to what to do.

I have disabled all apps for iCloud backup so it's just bare minimum and it still fails. I tried removing my icloud account and adding it again but nothing seems to fix it. Hard reset, all apps closed etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James, I am also having the same problem and have so far failed to find any useful information as it seems you have, did you you ever find out what it was?
