iPad 2 update problem

Hi all

I'm stuck!

Once again, I have tried to update my iPad 2 following a system update message, can't remember what it's for. Anyway, the update didn't work so I was asked to restore my iPad. I have tried this 3 times and it 'sticks' while restoring the firmware, about 60-70% in. This isn't the first time this has happened. Last time I did it, I took it to a 'Genius' who did something to force the restore. I'm loathed to do that again as it was obviously only a temporary fix. Can anyone help?

Many thanks. I have tried both these. I followed the helpful DFU process and this seemed to be working as the screen went blank as predicted. However, when I tried to restore again the same problem occurred. I'll keep trying.
