Hi, I'm new here and fairly new with the iPad 2 so please bear with me. : ) I have my iPad 2 about 4 months, but have an iPhone for 2 1/2 yrs. This is my issue: I go into my email, in particular, and it automatically "blinks" & kicks me out...back to the home screen. I NEVER download any "junk" or questionable apps & I'm constantly going into safari & cleaning cookies & data. Especially after online banking. (In other words...my kids don't go on here. Lol) and there's plenty of room in the system & everything is up to date. My other issue is when I get a text from someone, it will show on the left side of the screen, but not on the right where it would "normally" show by the keyboard...in order to give a response. Darn thing is possessed. These two problems only started happening in the past two weeks. (iOS 7 update??????) Can someone please help? My local verizon store is totally useless. I thank you all so much in advance and hope I can return the favor one day : )))

Hi, welcome to iPF!

One thing you regularly should do:
Force close all apps:
Double tap your Home button or four finger swipe upwards to reveal the multitask bar. Now tap one of the thumbnails above the app icons and drag it towards the screen's top.

After a software update, a reset is recommended:
Press and hold Home and Power button until the Apple logo appears. Maybe these suggestions can fix one of your problems.

Hi : )

Yea, been there, done that. Although, you're right, it does seem to lessen the problem a bit when I do that. I guess it wouldn't be technology if it didn't give us such headaches lol. Is it me? Or every time apple comes out with a new program they gotta get the "spiders" outta it? Kinda like a first year model car. I just ordered the 5s. This should be a scream! I thank you for your input! I'm sure I'll be talking to you very soon! : )))) have a good one!

If this doesn't fix your problems, perhaps you should backup your iPad and restore it through iTunes.

The message problem you posted before: were you talking about iMessage, the built in Apple app? I was just looking at mine, and from what I saw there, incoming messages show up on the left side, whereas outgoing messages (the ones I sent) are at the right side of the screen. So this should be normal behaviour.

Yes, incoming messages, are showing up on the left....but NOT on the right...the larger side of the page, as they always have. It's odd. Granted, I'm not one to "plug in" to iTunes and back up in that regard, due to the fact I'd have to use my sons' laptop (which is clogged with crap) lol. My iPad shows that it backs itself up everyday, or close to it...does it not? (Yes, I'm blonde, and yes, I'm very blind to some of this tech stuff) I apologize. You've been most kind and helpful!! I guess I'll have to try it tonight

If it's backing up by itself, then you use iCloud. In this case take a look when the latest backup was done, if necessary backup manually, in case it was too long ago, then go to Settings - General - Reset - Erase all Content and Settings, and set it up as new.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

You're right, it's only when an update is released for the iPad that problems do come to light and then it's a matter of time before another update is released to fix these problems. Apps also need to be updated to run on the new OS and they too can then have problems also. It's a teething period we go through.

The IPad Forum is a community of members from all walks of life and from all over the world coming together to share our experiences and to help each other learn about this wonderful piece of technology the Ipad. There is a wealth of information already here in the many threads we have so doing some searches will answer most of the questions you have. If then you cannot find the answer you are seeking then by all means post your question. There are many friendly and informed members here only too willing to help you.

We also have our own App - It is a very simple app to navigate.
