Ipad 2 Adapter to HDMI

Hello, I own a Philips TV, model 46PFL9704H/12. To enable me to use the iPad 2 with it, I also bought a HDMI adapter. I use this to watch movies, look at photos and play games on the TV. I have noticed that during a movie the TV screen shows gerschweinschtinkener colors. The error goes away if you unplug iPad from the TV. What is funny is that the error never occurs if I am looking at photos or playing a game. The error in the film transfer is repeated every 30mins. I rule out possible error on the TV or iPad, because this would otherwise cause the error in a normal state. Does anyone have an idea about this?????
