Ipad 2 3G outside the us

I got the ipad2 3G with Att and wondering if I will be charged an extra fee for trying to connect to the internet without being connected to a wireless network; outside the US; will be traveling to Peru.

Go to the AT&T site and look up International Roaming packages. They are country specific. World traveler plan is the least expensive but a one country destination may not qualify.

It's that or rely on wifi at hotels, cafes etc.

Another possibility is to purchase a local pre-pay SIM when you're in Peru; there are many options available there but, as the previous poster suggested, roaming rates are *very* expensive.
