IOS 5 force all devices to update?

If you update a single ipod or ipad to ios5, will this inturn force the user to:
1. update their itunes to .5?
2. force ALL devices that sync to the user itunes to update?
3. and this loaded question...
IF you update to itunes .5 will it FORCE all devices (I've got 2 ipods and an ipad...education use) to update to IOS5

You always get a choice - it's never done by 'stealth'...

No, you will not be forced to update all your iDevices.

When you plug in your device into iTunes, you will be offered a chance to upgrade. You can always say no (and, then you can turn off the reminder/option to be reminded to upgrade).

Hope this alleviates any concerns.

P.S. I know this because I upgraded my mom's iPad2 - but did not upgrade my iPad1 (was offered a chance to upgrade...I declined).
