iOS 4.2 availability

Here's a strange one, I have the latest version of iTunes (10.1.0.54) and synced my new (2 week old) iPad fine, but when I check for new software updates I get the dialogue box: 'the version of iPad software [4.2.1] is the current version.

No option to upgrade to the new OS.

Is the new version only available in certain regions? I'm in the UK.

what I forgot to say is that although it says 4.2.1 .. the version on my iPad looks exactly like the previous version ... there is no change to how the iPad looks apart from having a new 'Game Center app'. No multitasking folders etc. The only new feature I seem to have id the 'Games centre icon'.

No I didn't double click the home button. Back to school for me.

Is there a link to a good walk-through tutorial for the new software update anywhere?
