Here's a strange one, I have the latest version of iTunes (10.1.0.54) and synced my new (2 week old) iPad fine, but when I check for new software updates I get the dialogue box: 'the version of iPad software [4.2.1] is the current version.
No option to upgrade to the new OS.
Is the new version only available in certain regions? I'm in the UK.
