I am a Mac devotee both at work and play. Thought I could manage without an iPad as I have an iPhone, macbook and iMac network in my medical practice. However, had to have one and love it for reading ebooks, videos and working whilst travelling, photos, notes, evernote etc.
I am also a keen sailor and am looking at the possibility of using iPad for navigation and cockpit access to charts and boat data as well as email/webaccess afloat. Current iPad is a WiFi only device. May look to change for a 3G device and donate this one to the kids, but off to London boat show next weekend for further info before making decision. I may be able to set up a mini network onboard and access my nmea data which is currently handled by an old 12v pc using windows based software.
