I have the 64GB 3G/wifi 1st gen iPad on a Telstra prepaid microsim.
The Internet connection was pretty good until the IOS 4.2 update.
Since that update, my cellular network seems to drop out or just mot connect.
I have to keep changing the APN between Telstra.iph and Telstra.Internet whenever the message pops up telling me there is no Internet connection.
It is very frustrating......does anyone know of a fix?

Have you tried the iPad's 'cure all' fix - power the iPad down completely (hold the Power button down for a couple of seconds)?

It fixes a lot of unexplained problems.

Hi Tim
Yes...I did all that and more....have even done the dreaded restore and no joy.
Apple are sending out a replacement iPad to me.
:(

One last suggestion - hey, you might as well try it while you're waiting for the replacement iPad to arrive - did you try a complete 'reboot' - i.e holding down the Power and Home buttons for 60 seconds until the Apple logo appears?

I doubt it will be any help - most of my suggestions aren't :(

Press and hold the button of your router for at least 30 seconds,it re-boots your wireless router,it has got me up on line a couple of times when my connection went down.

Wow - a lamp working torch - definitely keep that one away from the iPad.

Dory - did that first up, worked for a while and then dropped out again.

Tim - hahaha, yep......I keep them both quite a respectable distance apart!

I have ANOTHER problem now but I think it should be in another thread. It's about the results of the restore.
