My apologies if this has been asked many times before, but the web offers a variety of software packages enabling one to transfer a movie created in iMovie on the iPad to a PC, so I guess it is possible.

My question to this learned forum is this, please:

What is best one (or method) to use?

Thanks.....

HELLO DONNINGTON.

Is the movie you wish to put to a PC already in Camera Roll?
If so then it will transfer to a PC without an extra app.
With the PC on, plug in the iPad.
Windows should recognize it and you should see the iPad listed in Windows Explorer.
Open it.
It may already be open, in which case you will see an entry called "Internal Storage"
Open that and get the DCIM folder.
Open that and get a few more folders.
Look through them and you will find the MOV file
It maybe mixed with picture files.
Is that what you want to achieve?

Hi Peter - many thanks. I'm responding to your kind post before following your explicit instructions.

The ultimate aim of the exercise is to be able to download the iMovie, via my PC, to a dvd, so I'll report any progress when achieved!

Thank you again.

Peter - thank you again! Just what I needed - it was a breeze.

Greetings from England.

Good news Peter.
May I ask what do you use to get it to a DVD?
Do you edit it first?
Or just burn it as a data file?

Peter.
Australia.
