Has anyone figured out how to turn off previews of URLs sent in iMessage?

I'm not talking about the appearance of the preview on the lock screen, but in the body of the message itself.

What I'm looking for is the ability to see a link which I can choose to open (or not) rather than have iMessage do it for me.

    Thanks in advance.

    No such settings.

IOS 10 has taken the link preview feature that was in Notes and scattered it throughout iOS. There is no off; at least not that I can find. If a URL can be previewed, then it is.

Thanks TP. I think you're right. I've been through every setting I can think of and drawn a blank.
