Late in coming back on this great photo of yours Johanna. It took me by surprise. Quite some years ago I was in Traunstein as well as in the village of Erding, both in Germany not that far from Munich, as you can see from this Google map: So it was a surprise to see there was a Traunstein mountain near the village of Traunstein in Austria across the border, per the map below. I didn't know that "other Traunstein" existed. They are not that far apart so I'm wondering how much confusion there would be with mail etc. Thanks for that photo...brought back memories. I was surprised as well, when I looked at your maps, Andrew. Traunstein in Germany was new to me. :)
There probably are no confusions with mail. Traunstein in Austria belongs to Gmunden and has no extra post code/zip code.

Hi Johanna - that is a beautiful photograph of a lake w/ the reflections - reminded me of a trip we made years ago to Alberta, Canada - attached are a few images that I scanned months ago - Dave :) <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=51962"/> <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=51963"/>
Beautiful pictures, Dave, both of them! :)

Yes, well, just because no one said anything doesn't mean we didn't see it or appreciate it. I remember it. I don't usually say much in this thread, unless I think I have something to worth adding. I must have been distracted though, because it was certainly worth a like.

Also, I'm sure it looks much better full sized and in person. These days were are inundated with downsized digital copies of art almost everywhere we go online. It is far to easy to become to tune it all out, even when the subject is the art. Sorry.

Hi TP - as always, sage advice - thanks for the comments. But your right, many of the great images shown here would obviously be better appreciated if each filled the entire computer screen, or in the works of art (like I have shown) much better to see in person. Prints w/ glass are especially difficult to capture unless removed from the frame - but will continue to try. Dave :)

Well not a photo, BUT the extreme cold spell that hit the USA recently and even affected us in the southeast - down to about 7F a few nights ago here (likely a record) - reminded me of the scene in the classic movie A Christmas Story where the kid's tongue gets stuck on a frigid pole - the cartoon below came to mind (and yes there are many variations!) - Dave :D
