icloud prob

Have downloaded and installed iCloud for my win 7 pc. I have copied my photos to the upload file turned on photo stream in settings and enabled the same on my iPad but none of my photos upload and appear on my iPad. I have disabled windows firewall in case it was blocking iCloud but still no photos on my iPad. Does anyone one know what I'm doing wrong and point me in the right direction to get this working. I really don't want to use iTunes by the way....

Are you sure you are checking the right album?

At the moment there are no photo's on the iPad they are all on the pc. I have put all the photo folders into the upload folder but they do not get to the iPad they just remain in the upload folder...
