Hp6500 loses air print, needs reboot

I am using an Ipad2, OS5 and an HP6500+. the printer is working fine sending print jobs via airprint, but not using it for a while requires a printer reboot to get it back. Any idea why that is? Any printer settings required to maintain air print without rebooting?

I have the same printer. Because of the architectural design of the house, I keep on having problem with the wifi. To solve this issue, I have to use multiple routers. And when I need to use the printer, my iPad can't recognize the printer. The solution was that I have to be at the same network that my printer is using.
