Try settings>general>usage>cellular usage.This will give you the total cellular data used by your iPad since the data was last reset.There is a reset feature at the bottom of the cellular data usage page.You could reset the data usage at the beginning of each billing cycle.This would enable you to keep track of how close you currently are to your monthly data limit.
