Hello Everyone,

I just joined the forum this evening and looking forward to interacting with other members. I would appreciate your help on a problem I'm having with Skype after downloading the IOS7.2 on my IPAD2 yesterday. Received a Skype call last night and the camera was on immediately.

I would like to disable the camera as I don't want to be seen on the camera by the calling party.

Also, unable to find camera option(s) on the Skype application.

Would appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Bailey

Hi Bailey and welcome to the Forum!

I haven't been able to find a setting for this on Skype, at least not before receiving a call, hopefully someone else may know more.

When making a call yourself, you get a choice of a Voice or Video call, when receiving one the camera is automatically on....I'm really not sure if you can turn the camera off before a call but you can during a call......tap the screen to bring up the options of Front Camera, Back Camera or No Camera. To turn the camera back on just tap the Camera icon. Now if you do turn it off during a call and do not turn it back on, it may stay off for subsequent calls.....I really don't know and as it's late at night here right now I can't test it. So why not give it a try and see if it works. You could always put your finger over the camera before answering the call and then activate the No Camera feature.

Hope this helps.
