A lot of times when I'm reading in iBooks the screen will dim before I finish a page, and I don't want to make the font any larger (so I read each page faster). How to do I turn off the auto-dim?

Your Auto Lock is probably set at a 2 minute duration. The dimming is a precursor to Auto Locking the IPad. If it hasn't been touched during the specified length of time it will dim and then turn off. In Settings>General>Auto Lock change your Auto Lock to a longer duration (10, 15, or never). That should fix your problem.

It would be nice if apps had a prevent lock so I wouldn't have to change my settings.

When it starts to dim, just touch the screen and it will brighten up again.

Seriously? Obviously this doesn't turn off the auto screen dimming like the OP was asking.

Now there's a good response. Thanks.
