Can anyone please tell me how to tell if you have iPad 3 or not ? I can not find how to tell sorry thank you

You have an iPad 3, if you have a 30 pin connector, and can use Siri. The iPad 3 also was the first iPad with retina display.

If you have a different connector (lightning), it's an iPad 4 and later.
If you can't use Siri, it's an ipad 2.

Hi Kevin43 - if Johanna's instructions do not solve your question - then go to Settings -> General -> About, and find your model # in the right-hand column (see first image below); then go to EveryMac Lookup and enter your model number in the dialog box (as indicated in the second pic) - your model should be identified w/ a LOT of information available - let us know if this helps.
