How to remove flipboard cover stories

Hello friends, is there a way I can remove flipboard cover stories on my ipad ? Tap and hold does not give the option to delete it. I don't like the cover stories on the app.

In the app, you'll find "Edit" at the bottom, when you tap it, the stories will get the x (like deleting apps), where you should be able to remove them. After deleting the stories you don't want to see, tap "Done", also at the bottom.

Thank you the problem is that the "x" appears on all other stories I have added myselft, but it does not appear for the cover stories
