How to download pdf/ppt files on chrome?

I have to download pdf/ppt files for school. I don't want to use safari because it is too simple. How do we download files on chrome (without jailbraiking)?

If not, can anybody recommend a powerful, yet simple, internet browser that can download pdf/ppt's for iPad? It will mainly be used for school, research, and projects.

You should be told that ipad safari is an excellent way to download pdf files to ipad. The function is built in. When you click on a pdf file and tap the screen, the "open in" boxes will appear in the upper right side. Just decide which app you wish to open/save in.

I use the free adobe reader app to save such files, but several apps do this.
