How to delete apps and/or icons

Hi! I just got my new iPsd yesterday, and now I have lots of apps . How do I get rid of the apps I don't want? Thanks!

Hold one down until they all wiggle. Then click the red x, I think it is, and delete the ones you want.

As SweetPoison says hold down till they wiggle then click the red cross and they delete, you also have to delete them from your iTunes account otherwise they will re-appear on your iPad next time you sync.
