I followed the directions on a thread here, how to make a short cut for mini iPad. I wasn't logged in, and by the time I fiddled around with passwords, got another one, I couldn't find the thread again.

What I want to know is - I have the short cut on my mini iPad, but it is a Google Logo. I want to change it ti the iPad Forums logo - so, step by step, how do I change the logo?

You delete the current shortcut from the Home screen and start over. There is no way to change the icon after the fact.

Actually, there isn't much choice in how the icon looks when creating the shortcut either.

If the website supplies an icon you get that icon. If it does not have one then you get an ugly thumbnail of the webpage; which you can alter somewhat by zooming in/out of the page before creating the shortcut.

There are several apps in the AppStore that allow you to create the icon you want for your home page/springboard bookmarks.

The one I like to use is "Touch Icon Creator" ($.99, USD, link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/touch-icon-creator/id357419508?mt=8). It's an iPhone-only app, but works fine on my iPad.

To use it, you find any picture you want for your icon and save it to your Photos app. Then, copy the URL of the page you want as a bookmark, open Touch Icon Creator and fill in the blanks. When you are done, ta da! Your bookmark looks as you wish.

Again, there are several such apps. This just happens to be the one I've used for years. Hope this helps.
