hotmail. sent folder iPad vs iPhone vs iMac

good evening,
when I send a mail from my iphone 6 it is registered in iPad sent folder but it is not registered in the iMac sent folder. However if I sent from the iMac it appears in both, the iphone6 and the iPad.
Where is the secret?

For most IMAP accounts, including Yahoo and Gmail.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Choose your account and navigate to the Advanced settings. There you should see a section called Mailbox Behaviors. Tap the Sent folder then select your Sent folder from the On The Server list.

It's a good idea to do the same for the Drafts, Deleted, and Archive mailboxes.

iCloud is slightly different in that you'll go to the main iCloud settings. At the bottom of that page you'll find the Mail settings. Navigate to Advanced settings as before.

If the keyboard gets in the way, tap the keyboard key at the lower right to hide it. If you are in landscape mode you can't see the advanced settings with the keyboard in the way.

Hopefully hotmail is similar enough that this will help. I don't have it to try.

If the account is set up using Outlook.com, there's no way to select "Sent Messages" in "On the Server".

In that case, try removing the account and setting it up again. This resolves most of the problems with email accounts.
