Just won some Apple products and am struggling as I have never used Apple products before. Was told I could use my iPad 2 as a router, so I can stop paying my landline and current internet provider. How do I go about setting it up? I have paid Telstra and now wonder if I have made a mistake!

Only a jail broken iPad can act as a wireless WiFi hotspot. Of course, even then, you'll be paying for the data that is used by your iPad and anything else you connect to it. Also, this 'tethering' of other devices to the jail broken iPad usually attracts additional charges from your mobile service provider.

It allows you to run programs that Apple have not approved and to remove some of the restrictions that Apple have placed on the iPad - for example, not being able to use it as a WiFi hotspot - whereas, on an iPhone4, you can!!
