Help w apple ID for a noob.

I got an IPad Air for Christmas from my wonderful husband. I have been tryin since Christmas night to download some apps. Every time I try to download one or go anywhere that requires me to input my apple ID it says Your Apple ID has been disabled.

I go in and create a new password but when I go back to the apps it says the same thing.

What am I doing wrong?

Try signing out of your AppleID through settings, perform a hard reset of your device by holding both the home and power button together and release both buttons when you see the Apple logo. Re-enter your credentials and see if that resolves the issue
