hi everyone

I am new to this forum, and would like to thankyou for existing! I hope you can help me. (firstly, a bit about me) I am a student teacher, and am extremely excited about my new iPad that I intend to use in my profession. I wont go into too much detail about me now, because I am pushed for time! Trying to complete a 2000 word essay in 3 days and have started tutoring, so I want to use my iPad ASAP. Here is my problem, and I will start from the beginning...

I have a laptop (HP, WIndows Vista). I have an iPod, so we had iTunes on our laptop before I purchase the iPad.
I opened iTunes, plugged the iPad in, and selected sync. I realised I hadn't manually adjusted what I wanted syncing to my iPad, so I had about 22Gb of data going to iPad with capacity of 32. I didn't want this, so I cancelled it. When I cancelled the sync, I noticed it had got to Step 2, in only a few minutes.

So....I worked out how to sync only what I wanted, I got it going, and it has been stuck on the "Step 1 of Step 3, Back up" stage for nearly 7 hours. I have tried to cancel it twice by clicking the 'cross' symbol at the right of the little 'syncing' icon, but that paused it for a moment, then it starts again.

It is driving me bonkers....................someone please help me!!!

When you stop a sync before it finishes you have to reset your iPad by holding the sleep button and the home button until the apple appears. Now when you connect again it will start fresh (at least this worked for me). Sometimes back-up does take a while though.
