Help! Mail Screen Frozen! Urgent!

IPad2, always worked brilliantly and used e very day, but today the Mail Screen Froze.
New Emails are brought in and listed but I cannot access them.
No interfaces work. Tapping anywhere on the screen has no effect.
All other Apps work fine as far as I can tell.
What could the problem be? And how can I fix it?

Hold both the power and the home button down until you see the apple logo and this will perform a soft reset. Be sure to close all apps first. Good luck.

If all else fails then that usually solves most errors.

Yes! The "problem" is that in my experience the iPad fails so rarely that when it does happen I have forgotten how to resolve it.
