    Hi there and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/6/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net

Thank you Gabriel1 and leelai - there's lots of fascinating information for me to read. Much appreciated.
I am a Forum as well as an Apple iPad newbie. Is there also a page (here or on another site) to guide through Forum use, acronyms etc . I did read through the RULES page in this IPAD forum, some phrases I don't understand - like 'bump'???, lol

I remember when I first joined and it was my first forum also.....I was forever googling the acronyms to see what they meant. ;)

As for bump, it's when someone posts about an issue and instead of waiting for someone to help them, they bump their post by doing a follow up post to draw attention to their question again. Being a world wide forum, at times the members who can help are not available and our Rules state that 48 hours should pass before a bump is allowed.

I will attach a link regarding posting and starting new threads which covers both the site and the app. I personally find the app easier to navigate.

Nice answer yes welcome to our forums.Just for your information both leelai and I are in Brisbane Australia about 18 hours ahead of the west coast of USA and our some 20 mods are scattered around the globe, This is one reason the 48 hour bump is in place. The bottom line is enjoy our forums ask questions and given time some one from around the world either one of our users or one of our staff will respond
