Hello..Be easy on me,I'm not really sure how this will go??

Hello everyone,I have a question about Teathering a iPad 3 & a iPod touch 4 from a smartphone...a LG 4g motion.I figured out how to create a hotspot.My problems lie in,that when it comes to doing any downloading at all,it is almost impossible....SOOOO SLOW,Oh almost forgot the carrier on the phone is..Metro PCS.I occasionally get bogged down when trying to connect...BUT my main problem is Downloading..it's almost impossible.Ive tried different settings on my iPad,that includes putting the Htcc proxy on..AUTO,RE-NEWING THE LEASE,A HARD RESET ETC.Is there something I could do to speed up the downloading issue..maybe through the phones settings or on my apple devices settings etc.THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR REPLIES...GREATLY APPRECIATED!
