Good to be here, have iPad 1 and 2 and enjoy both. Consulted with Apple since 1983 and just retired out here from Michigan. Enjoy this area where the desert is beautiful and the state parks would be National Parks anywhere else. :)

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Help for Mom

Hi all,

Just looking for some help to introduce my Mom to the iPad. I'm a tech savy guy in Arizona. Mom lives in SW St George. She's very leery of anything tech but I'm hoping I might be able to break through that with an iPad.

Looking for some tips on:
1) Best place to buy an iPad in St George that can provide hands-on/patient intro/help for her
2) What carrier to choose for 3G

Thanks in advance

I can definitely recommend going to an Apple Store. Just go to apple.com and look up store locations. They have free workshops for the ipad - getting started with your new iPad and going further with iPad 2. Great trainers. I have been a One-to-One member for two years (available with purchase of a new Mac computer - not iPad) and the trainers and specialists in my store are the best. I am a Sr. myself. Am enjoying my new iPad 2 and Zaggmate keyboard case. I went to the Apple Store to see one and try it out. They did not have in stock so I ordered online. I also went to Best Buy. Theirs came in first so I cancelled my online order, but I went to both iPad workshops at my Apple store.:)

If your mom lives in SunRiver (it's the most southwest of St George) she can join the computer club and become a member of the iPUG (iPad Users Group) that meets the first Tuesday of each month. We have great folks that can help her learn to use both models.
Also there is a great SimplyMac store on RiverRoad that sells and helps with iPads.
