Val, I'm hoping you might remember this toy: it had a ring you put your foot through. The ring had a rope maybe a foot and a half long. The other end of the rope had a plastic "bell shaped" red thing. You would swing your foot and that would make this thing go in a circle and with your other leg, you would "jump over" the rope. You would keep jumping over this circling thing. Do you know of this? Also, do you remember "Clackers"? They were two acrylic balls about the size of a large plum. They were connected by a rope. In the middle of the rope there was a place to hold. You would go up and down with your hand holding this and try to get the Clackers to hit each other at the top and at the bottom? They were banned because they would shatter sending sharp chards flying!

Ah yes, I remember both those toys well. You had to wear thick socks with that ring around your ankle! I was pretty good with the crackers, but if you got them going really fast and messed up you could really do some damage! I didn't know they were banned. Loved the noise they made, lol. Can't remember the name of that foot swinging toy. Hmm.

There is some sort of Polynesian thing with gourds and feathers.. You swing it like the Clackers, but they aren't supposed to hit. It looks cool!

I still have mine. They were also called Kabonkers. I recall they were also banned because people broke their arms.
If you long for the noise:

I think the bell toy was called...wait for it...it's really original... FOOTSIE!

I'm just posting all my pics now, because we're going away for four days tomorrow morning, so I won't be online much.

OK, I know we're done with toys, but I just remembered "Romper Stompers"!! Plastic inverted cups that you stand on, while hanging onto the "reins" and you stomp around the room...don't really know what the purpose was, except to make you three inches taller and three times likelier to fracture an ankle, but I loved these!

Question of the Day!

When fishing, if you get the crazed fish who likes to dart to each side of the circle super fast increasing said circle's size, do you battle it out to catch him or do you do a quick release and try for a calmer fish?! :)
