Posting something on a public forum is like putting it a newspaper. This is a small forum that hasn't been going long, so it hasn't had much attention from spam-bots or other undesirables yet, but that will happen sooner or later. Another forum I'm involved with has 125,000 members, with ~3,500,000 posts in ~250,000 threads, so it's rather larger than this one. We deal with >150 new spam threads/posts there every day and we've banned ~20,000 spammers/shills/trolls/phishers etc etc. Many of these people want YOUR email address and YOUR private info, so they can exploit it. It's not a good idea to give it to them, I promise you.
