Hi! My name is Darlene...I have an iPad 2 and I'm "hoping" that I can learn a little more through this forum. I am a "newbie"...and I'm trying to figure out how to make picture "albums"? I've downloaded the pictures from my camera and I'd like to put them into specific albums...any help would be much appreciated! :)

I don't arrange my photographs into albums, but before you start (hopefully someone who does this will come along and help) note this word of warning.

When you have albums on iPads and iPhones, DO NOT delete the photograph from your camera roll. This is because albums do not contain the photograph. They contain only a link to them. There will only ever be one copy of the photograph on your iPad.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know that! Much appreciated...now if I can figure out the albums it will make it so much easier for me to access a particular picture without having to scroll through hundreds!

Many people don't. And logic tells them that once they have the photograph in another album they can delete it from the camera roll, and they end up losing photographs. I didn't want to see that happen to you.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

With regard to your question, when in the photo app, along the top you will see all the different headings, press albums, once the page loads press Edit which is top right, then you will see New Album load on the top left, press this and you can name your album. Once you name it all your photos will appear and just go through and select which photos you want in the album. As Kevin has pointed out photos you input in albums are only a shortcut to your camera roll, like a duplicate and all your photos will still be in your camera roll. Sorry but you can't delete it from your camera roll without also deleting from your album. Although you can delete a photo from your albums without it being deleted from your camera roll. Have fun!
