Google has announced a big update and revamp of its Google Search iPhone app in the official Google Search blog. Now, when you access the Google Search app on your iPhone, you’ll be greeted by a completely redesigned interface, which Google says will give faster search results, thanks to faster autocompletion, with predictions appearing instantly with every letter that you type. Results also load faster, and a slide-in panel makes it easy to switch to web pages, and to swipe between search results and web pages. There’s also a swipeable menu between different search modes, such as Images and Places.

An impressive full-screen image search is another great improvement, as is the addition of a Google apps hub, where you can access all your Google services from the same screen, such as Gmail, Docs, Reader, Google+ and so on. Generally a very impressive update all round!
