Good Price on New IPAD2 A1397 ????

Hi all, I am new to the forum but not to Apple IPads as I have 2 children with IPad 2 WiFi. My question for all is I have a friend who has a "New" Black IPAD2 CDMA 32 GB(Verizon) that he received under a replacement warranty and he wants to sell to me with a new cover for $400.00 as he was currently between jobs and needs the cash. Is that a good price??

Well straight up, I would think that it is a refurb model that he has received as a replacement for Warranty. Having said that, refurbished are just as good but do sell at a cheaper price than new. But I find that strange if its new now as the iPad 2's are over 2 years old and warranty would have run out long ago, unless he did buy an extended warranty. Apple are selling iPad 2 now as an entry level iPad with 16gb with 3G at $569. Now thats Aussie prices and we do pay more here than in the US. So if its 32GB that does seem like a good price to me if its new. A jump up in GB were normally another $100. With the introduction of the new iPad, we normally see prices drop a bit for the older versions though and then you have to wonder if the iPad 2 will still be offered then. I would be looking at sites like eBay and Amazon and see what the going rate is there as a guide. Hopefully others will also chime in with their views on this.
