Gestures not working on original iPad

Just updated my original iPad. According to the apple website the IOS 5.0.1 update should have brought the multitasking gestures from the IOS 5 update to the iPad 1 but they still do not work on my iPad. Am I mistaken in thinking that the gestures should work on the original iPad or are others having this problem? Thanks!

I had the same problem, but you have to actually turn on the Multi Touch Gestures setting. Go to Settings > General > Multi Touch Gestures > On. This solved my problem.
