I was looking at a site which required my post code. Before I could enter the post code a pop up came and said "please enter full Post Code". with "ok" tab. However whatever I do now the screen is frozen. I cannot load a further search, even switching off and back on again results in the frozen Safari screen along with the pop up.
Please can anyone tell me how to get my Safari functioning again?

Hi, welcome to iPF!

Force close Safari: double tap the Home button to reveal the multitask bar.
In iOS 6 tap and hold the app icon until they start to wiggle. Delete the app from there.
In iOS 7 slide the picture above the app icon toward the top of the screen.

Also clear history, cookies and data in Settings - Safari.

If this doesn't help, reset your device. This won't delete data or settings. To reset, press and hold Home and Power button until the Apple logo appears. Release both and let the iPad power up on it's own.

Hope that helps.

have you tried closing Safari? Double tap the home button or do a four finger up swipe to reveal the multi tasking bar, then swipe up on the window above the Safari icon. If that doesn't work, try resetting your iPad. Simultaneously press and hold the hod the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears then release both buttons. The iPad will restart. Let us know if either method works.

Thanks J.A. and Scifan all now working. Trouble Is that when I went to school we used to learn our tables and the nearest thing to a computer was a slide rule. I really cannot get my "wrinkley" brain around these new fangled gadgets.I enjoy trying though.

Glad to help.

When I was young, I had to use a slide rule as well for a few years, before I was allowed to use a calculator. :)
You'll certainly learn very quickly how to use your iPad. Once you know how to handle it, you'll see that it's a great device.
