Formatting Numbers

When I make changes to the spreadsheets in numbers, I find that often the font size changes which is very annoying. This is especially likely to happen if I copy and paste for any reason. Off course I know how to adjust the font for a cell or set of cells, and thus for a column. But with a large spreadsheet and this happening everywhere, I would like to be able to change the font throughout the whole spreadsheet. Is it possible to do so? I thought there was a way of highlighting the whole document, but while this seems to work for copy, delete etc, it does not seem to work for format changes. Any help please?

Tap any column to see this, then tap here (1), and 2 afterwards:

Then choose Table Options, and you'll see this:

Change the font and font size for the whole table here.
Hope that helps.

That helps, certainly. Now I can get the font right for the whole table. But that does not mean I can do the formatting for the whole table, does it? For example, when I have a table full of dates I find every so often it changes the date format and starts including the time or something. Very annoying! That table options does not allow me to change the format for the whole table, does it?

Further to the above, why does the formatting change? Why does it suddenly put new new stuff in in a different font size or in a different date format? Why does it not just stay the same? Am I doing something wrong?

It doesn't. I am not using the phone Calibri at all. I change it from Times New Roman to Arial. I then change it back. But the message keeps appearing. I have realised it is always the font Calibri it refers to.

Sadly I have now found that even this does not help. When I put new items into a spreadsheet every so often they do so in a different font size. I have no idea why and it is fairly annoying. Unfortunately using table options all I actually do is decrease the font size then increase it again and the ones in the wrong font size stay at the wrong font size.

So, back to the drawing board. Is there any way to make the font size and the font itself consistent over the whole spreadsheet? Is there any way to stop it putting data in new cells in different font sizes from all the cells around?

This is what you'll find on Apple's support site for Numbers: <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=52453"/> Here's the link to the website: http://help.apple.com/numbers/ipad/2.0/#/tanc0d802398
Thanks - but - it is beginning to look as though my problems are insoluble. What with my font problems and also this little bug about Calibras often appearing as though it has changed the font I wonder whether the solution might be to take Numbers off my iPad and reinstall. Presumedly I would not lose any of the actual spreadsheets because they would be in iCloud, yes?

All the iWorks apps have received updates today, on both the Mac and iOS. Might be worth your while to download them and see if they fix your issue.

Good luck.

Good news and bad. The very annoying thing that kept telling me that the font Calibri is missing so it might look different seems to have disappeared from Numbers. But if ever I use Pages it normally happens then still, despite never using the font Calibri at any time.

But despite a lot of fiddling, a lot of trying various things and so forth I still have two major problems with Numbers. I cannot get the same font over the whole spreadsheet. Sadly if you use the device explained in this thread to do the whole spreadsheet all you can do is increase or decrease the font size. So once it is different sizes in different cells that it stays different sizes in different cells with you increase or decrease the whole sheet. From what I read earlier in this thread I think that is insoluble.

So my final question is this. Is it possible in any way to start off a spreadsheet with the same font in every cell? It's still seems incredible to me, even a software bug, that when I use a new cell it is often different from the cell I have just used above it or to its left.
