Hi. I'm new to ipadforums and could use some help. Last weekend I rented a movie from iTunes. It took 3 hours to download. Several days later I received the email receipt from iTunes for the rental. I've looked in my Video app on my iPad 2 but cannot find the video. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi Rob - welcome to the forum! :)

Just a few questions for starters: 1) Did you DL the movie to your computer or to your iPad (if the former you will need to load it onto your iPad); 2) What kind of connection were you using; and 3) Did you select a SD or HD version (the latter being a much larger file). I agree that 3 hrs seems rather long, but if you picked a HD on a 'slow' wireless connection, it might take a while. I'll just stop there - we'll await your response(s) - good luck!

Hi Rob - welcome to the forum! :)

I downloaded directly to the iPad using my Comcast cable/wifi home network. I selected the HD version, which must have accounted for the slow DL, although anything else I download (not from iTunes) is much faster. I have over 11 gb of free space left on my iPad2. Unfortunately I'm on the road for the next two and a half weeks and can't access my PC at home. Hope this was useful. Thanks.

Hi again Rob - I guess that the question w/ your prolonged DL is whether the movie is really on your iPad? You could go into Settings -> General -> Usage; allow a little time and expand the list of apps - check the Videos app icon to see what is stored there? Of course, if you have 'other' videos in that location then just summary usage is reported.

Also, you might want to 'Restart' and if of no help, then 'Reset' the iPad (directions HERE) - and then re-check the Videos app - probably will not solve the 'mystery' but will do no harm to the apps or their data on your device. Good luck - Dave :)

Launch the iTunes app on your iPad and look under the "purchased" tab. It won't show up in your Video App like any of your sync'd media.

Remember that with rentals you have 48 hours to watch it as many times as you like from the moment you press play the first time. Good luck.
