finding firware before buying

i want to buy ipad2 and my reviewing forums i got the perception that firmware 4.3.3 is the one good for jailbreaking
can i know about the firmware from the serial number or anyway else without turning the ipad on

There is no way of telling what version of iOS an iPad has without turning it on and starting it up.

You'll just have to take your chances...which get smaller and smaller each day.

You cannot revert to 4.3.3 unless you have original SHSH blobs, which I doubt you have. Just sit and wait for iOS 5 coming soon. They have been abl to crack every beta release of it within a matter of hours. BTW, the jailbreakme.com creator works for apple now as an intern, which means it's only gonna get harder for hackers to find a security hole since they have one of their own working for the big guy.
